Here are some alternate rules for taking damage from large thrown objects.

ALTERNATE DAMAGE RULES FOR LARGE THROWN OBJECTS

Some people seem concerned about the damage of thrown objects being ruled by the Body stat, regardless of the object’s size. A quick patch to give it a little more variation would be to take a cue from the Size Shift miracle, and add damage based on the object’s size/weight.

Just note the large object’s weight on the Miracle Measurements Table and add that many levels of Shock Damage to the damage caused by the thrower’s roll.

Example: The Great Hurl-o-Tron (Body 8) throws an empty dumpster at Super Lad. Hurl-o-Tron rolls 3x7. Super Lad fails to get out of the way and gets hit squarely by the dumpster.

The empty dumpster weighs 500 lbs, which falls on Level 4 of the Miracle Measurements chart (it’s more than 400 lbs, but less than 800 lbs), adding 4 more Shock to the 3 Shock and Killing Hurl-o-Tron does because of his Body score of 8.

In the end, Super Lad is in pretty rough shape. In fact, his torso looks like this:

XXX/
///
///

He's taken 3 Shock and Killing +4 Shock to his Torso. His torso is now filled with damage, and his Body and Coordination are -4 until he recovers 1 point of Shock.

If you wanted Talent street-fights to be nasty, brutish, and short, you could say that the levels added are the same as those the thrower’s Body dictates. If that is the case, then in the above example you would add 4 Shock and Killing to the damage (because Hurl-o-Tron's Body does both Shock and Killing), and Super Lad would be reduced to a red smear as he suffers a total of 7SK to his torso.

As you can see, this modification makes throwing large objects super deadly, especially when a large object capable of hitting multiple locations is thrown.

ANOTHER ALTERNATE RULE

This alternate rule was put forth by TomTitTot in a thread on RPGnet.

The HAR of large objects does either it's rating in Shock in addition to current damage rules, OR it's HAR in penetration. This makes sense to me, in that the damage that would have been done to the armor is rather taken in full by an unarmored opponent.
