Project Nemesis is a fan driven website for games that use the One-Roll Engine (like Nemesis, Wild Talents, Reign and Monsters) or Chaosium's Basic Roleplay System (BRP) (like Call of Cthulhu) and the Delta Green setting.
My cousin wants to play a time controller in my game. We gourmeted the
following miracle for his base "Time Control" power, which generally
acts like a cosmic DVD remote in practice.
Time Control: D/R/U
Reflexive +3/6/12
Total Cost: 7/14/24
You can speed up, slow down, and pause objects in time. Speed it up to
get to work early or grab that girl about to be hit by a bus, slow it
down to pick bullets out of the air.
Defends: This is the most common use of Time Control - dodging attacks.
Without Attacks, incoming attacks must beat your roll or you simply
waltz out of their way. Robust: Always take Robust. Useful: You can roll your power to, as mentioned, get to work on time, save bystanders, whatever you like.
*Pausing Time: Pausing time works like Time Fugue, and costs Willpower
appropriately. The other uses of Time Control are "bid-Willpower"
costs, as they don't really do anything too over-the-top.
Go First: D/U
Specific Miracle (Time Control) -4/8/16
Total Cost: 4/level
I don't take Robust here - if you are somehow struck before your
action, your initiative drops down to its normal rolled level. However,
Reflexive Time Control + Go First means that you are nigh-untouchable
if you know it's coming... and if you don't you have:
Second Chance: R/U
Total Cost: 6/level
Second Chance can act like the Prince of Persia "rewind" power to cheat
damage or death, or the Bill & Ted "don't forget the tape recorder"
power, allowing you to bypass obstacles.
Almost forgot: Multitask: A/D/R/U
No Willpower Needed: x2
20 points/level - but you only really need 1 level
I technically can't attach this to Time Control, as TC lacks the
Attacks quality, but it's cheaper than adding a quality to TC that I'll
never use just to attach this to it. One level of Multitask means you
can dodge bullets and still have an action left over to smack people
around. And it costs no Willpower!
Now, we buy a Power Stunt: Matrix Bullet Time for Time Control, which'll assist when we're using Time Control to dodge ranged attacks, and then we'll buy some Hyperbrawling and flaw it with "If Time Control is active/Then kick some ass".
You now have a proto-Neo crossed with the Prince of Persia. Enjoy!
