Hans Werner Schlinck was born on February 1st 1911 in the Westphalian
town of Hagen that marks the border between the industrial region of
the Valley of the Ruhr and the rural Sauerland hills. Schlinck's father
was an entrepreneur owning a couple of lumbermills along the river
Lenne and a steelwork in the town of Schwerte near Dortmund.
Members of a given cell have as contacts the leaders of the cell above
and below. Who decides which member is the leader? Who would the
adjacent cells call the 'leader'?
Keeping agents isolated might enhance security but, when you're on the
sharp end and stuff is "incoming!", what you need is partners, buddies,
the other members of your combat team.
DG has a cell structure for a reason. It is not to indicate rank or
authority, with the exception of cell A. The agents are arranged in
cells so that when one is compromised, they can't bring down the others
if they wanted to.
Essentially, the Voynich Legacy is a secret research society, with
"agents" and friendlies in many scientific institutions; its research
concern mainly the space/time structure, and so focus on physics,
astronomy, cosmology.
The cell structure is as described: one cell for each letter of the
alphabet and 78 agents total. Most cells are designed to be a
relatively decent mix of agencies and powers and handle a variety of
cases. There are a number of "speciality" cells scattered throughout the hierarchy, though.
