The Turner Codex is a translation of a series of pictograph engraved copper sheets of Mayan origin, translated by Maplethorpe Turner in the late 1800's.

Originaly an unpublished work in an old styled 3-ring binder filled with loose leaves, there was a highly expurgated "Memorial Issue" printed for a few select collegues and family. The Black Icons tell the story of Semyon, a Christianised Rus monk who was proselytising along the southern Volga River circa 1220 A.D., during the decline of the Kievian state.
The investigation takes place in Arizona, on a barren stretch of ground in the northeastern quarter of the state near (insert a name here). The investigators are called in because of an incident involving mysterious deaths of cattle and the strange actions of the USDA inspector on the scene.
