A power/curse I conceived as a step beyond traditional spells or artifacts for getting to the Dreamlands, and conceivably elsewhere. I primarily use it as a vehicle to take the plot in other directions or sidetrips, especially when the players least expect it.

Dream Gate (8d)

Prerequisite: Supernatural
Effect: An extremely unreliable trait, you are capable of creating a portal into the Dreamlands, Dreamtime, etc., which may be entered from either the physical realm if awake or from the psychic realm if sleeping. The presence of an actual physical portal is required in either instance, within the dream itself and/or handy in the waking world. The person with this trait must physically pass through the portal. This power is extremely fickle and only activates during stressful periods or when least convenient. Companions present when the portal opens, awake or sleeping in close proximity, can also be swept into the realm of dreams.  Keepers may define the stressors; rolls required, etc. or just use it as different plot device to get players to the Dreamlands. Alternatively, it could bet the reason some people disappear without a trace.
