In a world of majestic sorcery, there are also those that labour under failed ambition or are spiritually deflowered, these sorcerers whose long and winding road is a little off the beaten path. A few are just educated but most are able to muster some grubby charms and brief sparks of power as they eke out a living as hayseed shamans and crafty mountebanks.

1. Cultist
There is a little shrine to tend every day, or a temple you visit, or a priest you follow, or a creed you yell, or stones you throw at anyone walking by. Despite your honourable, heart-felt intentions, people avoid you.
+2 Perform: Exhortations, +2 Student of Religion, +1 Expert: Throw

2. Curse-chaser
You wander around with a medallion or two, a demon-sniffing dog, a bushel of rods, and an eye for bad sorcery and fell spirits, performing exorcisms village to village by vigorous chanting, burning herbs, or threatening to beat devils with your stick.
+1 Student of Spirits, +1 Perform: Exorcism Rite, +2 Eerie, +1 Animal Companion

3. Fortune Seller
You read charts, you hum and ah with your hand on your temples, or squint at flung objects, or whirl a wrung chicken around your head. You could be a studious and legitimate student of the high art of divination, however you do it, people believe this allows you to see the future but you're just performing psychological tricks – whether you know it or not.
+2 Empathy, +1 Lie, +2 Perform: Soothing

4. Indigent Scribe
You are learned in the rare and fine art of writing well, maybe beautifully too. People employ you to hand-pen important pages in family books and magicians scrolls. If you're stuck with penalties with awkward alphabets, you're still stuck with them. Note: Literacy is a one-point advantage that allows you to read, write, and calculate basic arithmetic.
+1 Own Language, +1 Other Language, +2 Expert: Calligraphy, +1 Literacy.

5. Morthist
Part apothecary and part alchemist, you are a master of potions and herbs and dried salamander. You can create unguents, potables, salves, and powders. With your recipes and pots and simmering herbal stews you can brew any poison and antidote with the right ingredients.
+2 Student of Herbs, +2 Expert: Brew Mixture, +1 Possession (toxic herbs and strange substances)

6. Physician
Maybe you had to drag corpses out of the fray and dress the wounded or some charlatan showed you the wonders of a fake cure for a fake sickness, but alone the way you have accumulated some medical skill.
+2 Healing, +2 Student of Anatomy, +1 Student of Herbalism

7. Roving Evangelist
Madman and scare-monger, you sneak into towns and reveal the wickedness about you: women wearing pants, men with painted faces, vanity, disobedient children, sexual congress, strong drink, bathing, demon-veneration, idolaters of coins, sinners, criminals, thieves, foreigners, whores, educators, and perverts all!
+2 Perform: Oration, +2 Intimidation, +1 Student of Religion

8. Temple Dancer
You were too smart to walk the streets for a pimp and too strong-willed for the burlesque entertainers and courtesans but you were just right to dance for the gods and lechers that come in to ogle you. You have a generous life, gorgeous vestments, room and money, dancing without shame; you bring money into the temples, and your choice of lovers.
+1 Athletics, +1 Fascinate, +1 Student of Religion, +2 Perform: Dancing.

9. Unchanter
Maybe you travelled through the Maemeck Matriarchy, or picked up bad habits from the School of Night Knives, or as a failed magician, you just have to undo petty curses and cure distemper around the village, but you are wise and versed in sorcerous countermeasures.
+2 Counterspell, +2 Eerie, +1 Student of Magic

10. Itinerant Conjurer
You have a limited repertoire of spells, some minor skill with sorcery, and a charm or three for sale. It's not a question of success or prominence it's about some money to chase down that swallowed pride.
+2 Sorcery, +2 Spells (4 1st Intensity), +1 Possession: Intensity 1 Charms.
