Hello, all.
I am running a Heroes-esque low-powered supers game based on 250pt characters. The players are part of a Special Powers Investigations Unit and each had to choose a police specialty and describe what special power their heroes had in one sentence. I then built the characters to suit their requests
One of my players, a detective, wanted the ability to perceive incredible amounts of detail on the people around her to the point where she could detect lies, mood, intoxication and the emotional states of people around her.
I put this together and I think ADRU 8d cost about 32 points. Her other stats and skills added up to about 150pts...
So I added the universal x2 multiplier to her power.
My take was that when the character activates her ability (which causes her eyes to glow green) she has effective omniscience within a particular area for whatever she is trying to percieve at that time. She can change her 'target' each round. She is also limited to looking for something that she can reasonably understand: moods - yes, IR - yes, spirits - yes, breaks in the subquantum fabric of the universe - no. If at some point she started studying quantum physics, however this would become a valid sense for her.
Does this make sense? Should I have done this? What do you think she should be able to do with the power? If not, what other powers could I use to make up the extra points?
Thanks!
