This looks good generally, but I have a pet peeve about Hard Dice. If Molly has 2 HD in both Body and Coordination, she pretty much never misses (or fails) when doing anything physical and always does serious damage. This seems a bit dull from the standpoint of playing, and a bit twinkish too. Couldn't a couple levels of Deadly, added to a four extra regular dice be a better option? Did Buffy really always hit and always do major damage? And with these HD, it would mean that she always dodges too. Then, to create challenging opponents, a GM has to be loaded up with HD or WD, unless they are heavily armored or have some other mega advantage.

I've been looking at the new WT rules. If a PC has 2 HD in Coordination, and their total is 6, they are almost certain to be able to dodge bullets in most cases. This is more a Spiderman ability than a Slayer one. Buffy could disarm a gunman who is standing very close before the gun is fired, but if several skilled gunmen shoot at her and two hit, she wouldn't be able to automatically Gobble their attacks. Buffy didn't demonstrate an ability to effortlessly evade flying bullets.

Again, HD inflation is a pet peeve of mine. Please don't take offense. I like the If/Then use on the Hypersense, as well as the PC motivations. Your skill selection looks very good, and I like the stake as Melee Weapon.

Does the Charm stat reflect good looks to some degree? Maybe it should be higher. 1D in Mind is the lowest score one can have, and it may suggest that the PC is downright stupid.

avatar My critique would be lower the Hyperbody and Hypercoord to 1hd each, raise her Mind to 2d at least and Charm and Command to 3d to show that she's cute and team leader.

Why not give her some low-level regeneration or damage reduction powers to show how how plucky and indefatigable she is?

Hi, folks. Just visiting the web site and discovered the commentary. A few thoughts:

1. The reason for the hard dice: Molly should be able to handle a single vampire reliably, but struggle with three or four at once. (I think of vampires as resilient enough to count as "heavily armored.";) I confess that I didn't reality-check for gunmen, sticking mostly in-genre.

2. In systems with 1-5 scales, where 2 is "average," I like to consider 1s as "character defining flaws." Rather than "downright stupid," I'd go with "not book smart, and a little flighty." If I was writing up Olive Rosemont, I wouldn't hesitate to give her a 1 Body.
