My take on the age old game of Hangman, possibly originating from the Dreamlands.

Stickmen (Dreamlands - Fabulous Constructs)

Skills: As per controlling entity, but all skills are rolled –1d because of the remote nature of and number of stickmen controlled by one mind.

Description: Ents and Golems of ancient myth and legend may be attributed to these magical creations. Something deep in the human psyche, related to stickmen, may also be the foundation for the game of hangman. Stickmen are created by the union of a mortal being with a witch tree.

First, a witch tree must be raised from a seedling or it must be psychically controlled, if not raised from a seedling. Then the rough form of at least one stickman must be crafted with wood and other natural materials, including various bits of the mother tree. More than one stickman may be manufactured at this stage. One stickman can also be used to create other stickmen in the future. The lifeless body of the stickman is then mounted in the upper branches of the witch tree, whereupon, the crafting sorcerer must commit to a pact with the witch tree using the Covenent spell.

The Covenent spell is a powerful variation of the Dreamlands Mandrake spell. Casting of this spell requires the sacrifice of a mortal being or creature to meld with the witch tree as part of the process. Stickmen are automatons controlled by their human-witch tree hybrid master and therefore do not possess any metal abilities of their own. Stickman senses are limited to whichever sensory or remote viewing spells are cast on the stickman, such as scrying spells on gemstones, which may be used as a form of remote eyesight.

Normally, stickmen cannot exist as independent creatures since they are an extension of the sorcerer and the witch tree from which they were crafted. They must remain within line of sight of both the caster and the tree from which they are created. In exceptional circumstances one or two individual stickmen could travel further afield with the novel use of magic by the caster/creator.
