Project Nemesis is a fan driven website for games that use the One-Roll Engine (like Nemesis, Wild Talents, Reign and Monsters) or Chaosium's Basic Roleplay System (BRP) (like Call of Cthulhu) and the Delta Green setting.
I offered my players a deal they couldn't refuse: They transcribe their
characters for posting and I will post the stats of the mysterious
priest circa his unjust defeat...
Toltocatl
When
a young boy is bitten by the rare White Leaping Spider they rarely
survive. Those who do are changed by the venom and become the shamans
of their people. Toltocatl was one such boy, gifted with both political
and supernatural power, but cursed to drink toxic venom daily to aid
his people.
Powers:
Control (Spiders):
(ADRU) When he drinks of the venom of spiders from his sacred staff or
invokes directly the name of the Spidergod, Toltocatl can ask them to
do his bidding.
Extras & Flaws: Scope (Spiders) -2, Backfires -2, Daze +3, Burn Cost: 4/8/16 Dice: 6d+1wd Total: 46 pts.
Bind (Webbing): (AU) Once Toltocatl's spiders have been collected he can direct them to imprison or build with their webs.
Extras & Flaws: Attached (Control) -1, Shock Only -1 Cost: 1/2/4 Dice: 6d + 1wd Total: 10 pts.
Immunity(Venom):
(DRU) A lifetime of imbibing spider venom has rendered Toltocatl immune
to all but the most potent poisons. Note this does not prevent the
damage from his backfiring Control.
Extras & Flaws: Scope (Venom) -2 Cost: 4 Levels: 2 Total: 8 pts.
The Heroes
Edward "The Bull" Jenkins (Circa Session 2)
Edward
grew up on his maternal grandfather's farm in northern England. His
grandfather had earned the farm as an officer in the navy and often
regaled young Edward with tales of heroic bravery and loyalty. While
Edward was away visiting friends his family disappeared amid rumors
that they'd been killed because they refused to sell their land.
Recalling his grandfather's tales of naval adventures, Edward
volunteered for the navy. After five years of loyal service he found
himself on the wrong side of a mutiny and ran away to the West Indies
disillusioned and in search of hope and opportunity.
Albinus Wade (not cool enough for an AKA yet) (Post Session 3)
A
bastard child of a whore and a drunk, Al ran off to be a scurvy sailor,
and ended up accidentally becoming a pirate aboard Captain Blake’s
ship, The Devil’s Pride. A few days later the vessel of bloodthirsty
pirates came upon a fat laden merchant ship. Al was prepared for
looting and riches, not the massacre that ensued. He was assaulted by
visions of suffering and misery and took shelter in an alcove. He lost
all sense of his surroundings. When he came to, he was being dragged
into captivity.
Archetype: Cursed
Power Theme: The Sight for Suffering
Stat Increase: Sense
Powers: Detect (Human Suffering):
Al can feel the pain of others, clearly and vividly. He has been able
to hone his sense to determine details about the sufferer.
Flaws: Involuntary II, Loopy Extras: Booster x 2 Dice: 3HD Precognition: Al can see into the future. His future sight is not limited to suffering, but it usually foreshadows ill fortune.
Flaws: Involuntary II, Loopy Extras: Booster x 2 Dice: 2d + 3HD Telepathy:
The thoughts of others can reveal a great deal. Not just pain, but the
intention to do pain, the knowledge of others in pain, and the fear of
impending pain. Also it’s good for mind talking.
Flaws: Involuntary II, Loopy Extras: Booster x 2 Dice: 2HD
Not
much to say about Edward's powers, his player plans on leveraging the
With style options for his pugilism more, as well as perhaps becoming
more Captainish. Al's powers bear a bit more of an explaination:
thoughts and his sense of suffering come to him unbidden and painfully
(Involuntary II is explained in the packet ), if his eyes can see the
visions of suffering are so bad that he is incapacitated (Loopy) so
instead he walks around blindfolded (Which gives the -2 for Involuntary
II). Originally Al's player was planning to buy off Loopy so as to be
more useful in a scrap but events of Session 3 caused him to rethink
that.
